I was appalled this morning when I awoke and read an interview of a witch in North Carolina who was literally persecuted by the town in which she lived. It angers me to depths of my soul how one group of people, a bunch of closed-minded bigots, can have so much control to destroy animals, another persons belongings, and even degrade by defecating in their microwave. It makes me ask myself what we have a military for and why are we defending a country and its constitution for freedom when the law and the courts does nothing to punish these people, and actually supports these people in this particular case. I say we not only raise our voices and pronounce our beliefs, but protest the courts and make them listen.
They say this country was founded on Christianity, I say ask a Native American, is he or she a Christian? Native American beliefs parallel all earth-based religions and were on this continent long before Christopher Columbus arrived here.
The English came here to start a country based on freedoms that England was stifling, not as missionaries.
As a matter of fact if you look at the background of most of the signers of the Declaration of Independence they weren’t Christian, they weren’t catholic; in fact, some of them were pagan.
Look at history, were the witch burnings truly after witches? No they were the church after property and many were tortured because they were different or not liked for one reason or another. It appalls me the arrogance of the human race and how one group can raise themselves so high and force there beliefs on another.
I wrote a letter to the editor of that community and told them that you know, they need to read their own book, Christ himself would never have condoned their actions, they say, “Suffer not a witch to live” well I say look at the time era, a witch back then was a poisoner or murderer, not an earth worshiper as a witch is today.
I challenge Christians to read their own book and look at their own beliefs, “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone” their book says. It also says, “Judge not, lest ye be judged”. I see their actions as judging and they certainly aren’t without sin. Christ was a prophet and a healer much like we have today. All deities of the mainstream are based on love and peace, maybe those that claim these mainstream religions should live after there own deities standards.
