_Twilight Hour_
There seems to be a wide spread phenomena barreling out of the closet of unspoken secrets which I like to call the *Twilight Hour*. Actually it was a friend of mine who coined the phrase, which made sense to me, so now I use it religiously. Twilight, like other phenomena, has occurred for ages and as with all things, everyone knows it by a different term or name. Yet it is only now, possibly because of the internet, that people are actually speaking about it.
_*What is Twilight? *_
It's the world between dreaming and being fully awake. In other words, you lay down to fall asleep but you do not sleep - that is, completely. You open your eyes, sit up in bed, see all of the things around you that are actually in your room or space and may even think for a minute that you are indeed awake. But your not are you? There are other things in the room with you, which are not normally there *or* normally seen with your conscious eyes.
You are between the veils, so to speak. You are completely aware of the world around you but also aware of what's behind the veil which is usually closed to you.
Still confused? Think about the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. I hate to use a horror film because I don't want to induce fear in anyone. *This is not about fear*. However, it is the perfect example of the condition of which I am speaking.
In one of those movies the dreamer attempts to bring Freddy out of the world of dream and into the waking world so that the dreamer has power over him. To the dreamer's surprise though, Freddy still has the power to change the waking world the same way he does the dream one. That's because they are caught in between —The Twilight. That's the point of the example I used, not the horror film itself. I stress this because there is no need to fear the Twilight.
The clinical name for Twilight is called Hypnagogia. Science has classified this as a sleep condition or disorder. They have been researching it for some time. It isn't easy to find out information concerning Twilight that would suit an open mind or even one who has experienced it. If you are a hardcore science believer though, there are plenty of scientific explanations for you out there, even though the condition it self still baffles the scientist's mind.
*_What sorts of things happen when you're experiencing the Twilight?_*
People have been known to see spirits or other worldly visitors. One woman remembers snapping out of the condition, in front of her bedroom window. She was standing there, waving at people walking through her yard who were waving back. Fully awake though, there was no one else standing there.
Some people are visited by Shadow beings and I say beings because we really don't know who or what they are. (Another article coming soon.) Some people leave their bedrooms through portals of some kind and end up somewhere else. They walk along streets, in this time or another, revisit places that they believe are past lives. Some visit places in their own time frame, but with other visitors — ones who are not normally seen there.
*_Twilight is not sleepwalking._*
You have full awareness and control over your environment during your experience, whether you realize it or not. You can snap out of it rather quickly too and will find that you do, especially if you're new at it.
If someone were observing you, they might see you walk into the kitchen, fix a cup of tea for yourself and someone the observer cannot see. They may watch you have a conversation with that person. They will hear you reply and speak to them but of course they will not hear what the other person is saying.
Others believe that Twilight is a form of astral. I am wondering though if this is two separate things. In my personal experience, it has been.
Maybe people experience Twilight but because of their faith, fear it. They get treatment in order to stop it. I have seen web sites telling others of this cursed ordeal, offering resolutions to help the reader stop or prevent it. Others, who follow a more spiritual or open minded path embrace this phenomena. I am one of them.
It is said that the one experiencing it often does so when they sleep on their backs. I admit that it has happened to me while sleeping on my back, but I also have to admit that it has happened to me while sleeping on my side and so on. Some people experience the Twilight without ever knowing it. They awake all hours of the night, seeing someone standing in front of them or wandering about their house. I have awaken a few times finding someone just standing over me. They cause me no harm. I usually just roll back over and go to sleep.
If you are having experiences concerning Twilight, then I ask you to blog or speak about them. There are so many out there who are struggling with this and it shouldn't be that way. Again, it's something which people have experienced for ever. I suggest you do your own research but avoid articles which provoke fear. There are many out there and as I tell people, the other side is a New World to us. We are Columbus' in our own rights. So let's get beyond the fear and start making sense of things. Good luck!
